Rubber demand to reach 23.7 million tonnes: IRSG

The IRSG has revised downwards the global rubber consumption forecast for 2010 in response to changed assumptions on the pace of recovery in the chain of upstream industries and a downward revision in the 2009 data. The Secretariat expects total rubber demand to reach 23.7 million tonnes in 2010 and 25.2 million tonnes in 2011. SR demand is now expected to be around 544,000 tonnes lower in 2010, at 13.5 million tonnes, compared to the previous forecast.
